Designed by the architect Wybe Jelle's Van der Meer of Rockford, Illinois, Mercy Manor was dedicated on September 20, 1931, as St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. This Collegiate Gothic style structure is 6 stories high, excluding the 7.5 story tower. Note the delicate stone tracery in the tower.
